TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

    1. Definitions


      The hostel: this term refers to Hostelling International Norge.

      The customer: this term refers to the person who has made the reservation (tour operators, travel agencies, coach operators, any tourism professional or natural or legal persons making a group reservation as part of their associative or personal activity).

      The stay: this term defines all the products and services provided by the hotelier for the benefit of the customer.

      Additional services: this term refers to all the services not included in the stay. The general terms and conditions of sale and the special terms and conditions form an integral part of the sales contract and whose global acceptance is obligatory before the conclusion of any sale.

      The reservation request entails adherence to the present terms and conditions of sale and full and unreserved acceptance of their provisions.

      The present conditions are those applicable at the date of printing, they replace the previous versions.


    2. Scope of application


      The present general terms and conditions of sale apply to sales operations concluded between tourism professionals (travel agencies, tour operators, coach operators, etc.) or individuals or legal entities making a group reservation and the hostel, Hostelling International Norge, whose head office is Haraldsheimveien 4, 0587 Oslo, registered in Norway with following organization number: 954 871 711.

      In the case of a “group” reservation, the rate applies for a double room occupied by two or more people, per day and per person, excluding tourist taxes.

      For any room occupied by a single person, a supplement will be added to the rate.

      The rate of VAT retained is that in force on the date payment is due in full.

      At the time of booking, the client’s agreement is subject to acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale and the terms and conditions of sale of the

      reserved rate. No reservation is possible without this agreement.

      The client acknowledges having read and accepted the present general terms and conditions of sale and the conditions of sale of the reserved tariff.

      The present general conditions of sale are given for information only and may be modified.

      These general terms and conditions of sale shall apply to all bookings made directly with the hotelier or via the internet via the Haraldsheim.no website or mobile services.


    3. Capacity


      Any customer acknowledges having the capacity to contract, i.e. being of legal age and not being under guardianship or trusteeship, allowing him to commit himself under these terms and conditions.


    4. Price display


Prices are indicated in Norwegian Kroner. VAT is always included.

The prices indicated only include the services strictly mentioned in the reservation.

Additional services or (extra) expenses provided by the hotel owner during the stay and, if applicable, the tourist tax will be added to the price mentioned in the reservation.

The prices mentioned on the site are subject to change without notice and only the price indicated in the booking confirmation is contractual.


The establishment mainly accepts the following bank cards by online-booking:


  • Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard/Maestro, and debit cards.

    - It is possible to pay with cash at the reception for a non-booking online.


    Guarantee: the hotel reserves the right to ask for a valid credit card number on the date of the beginning of the stay to guarantee any extras or any degradation/theft noted in the room on the client’s departure or for any lost or damaged room key.

      1. Force majeure


        Force majeure shall be understood to mean any event outside the parties that is both unforeseeable and insurmountable and that prevents either the client or the hostel-keeper from fulfilling all or part of the obligations provided for in the contract.

        This is particularly the case in the event of strikes, insurrection, riots, prohibitions issued by government or public authorities.

        It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends, for the parties, the execution of their reciprocal obligations and that each party shall bear the costs arising therefrom.

        In particular, clients shall bear solely any additional costs that may be incurred to enable the stay to continue, following the occurrence of a case of force majeure.


      2. Claims


        Any complaint during a guest’s stay must be reported immediately to the hostel before the end of the stay. No complaint will be possible after departure.

        Any dispute, claim or litigation relating to the terms and conditions of booking a stay or a hostel room are subject to Norwegian law.


      3. – General rules relating to the hotel business Rooms are available from 15.00 onwards for check-in.

        On the day of departure they will be vacated by 10 am. For any later departure, an extra day can and may be charged.

        All our rooms include breakfast, bedlinen, towels, pillowcases, and free parking.


      4. Liability


        The photographs represented on the site are not contractual.

        Although every effort is made to ensure that the photographs, graphic representations, and texts reproduced to illustrate the hostel presented give as accurate an overview as possible of the accommodation services offered, variations may occur, due to changes in furniture or following renovation.

        The customer shall not be entitled to any claims on this account.

      5. Data processing and liberties


    In application of the law L.78-17 of January 6, 1978, the customer is informed that the personal information communicated is subject to computerized processing, unless he expressly opposes it.

    The information requested during the reservation process is essential for the proper processing of your request. This information is intended solely for the hostel owner concerned by the reservation request.

    In accordance with the legislation in force, electronic contracts are electronically archived for a period of 5 years for any contract for an amount greater than 350 NOK.


    II SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SALE


      1. – Preliminary offer


        The prior offer mentioned in the law of 13 July 1992 is made up of the following information

        data on the website, by e-mail as well as the present conditions of sale.


      2. – Booking conditions


        All reservations are considered firm and definitive only after confirmation of availability on Haraldsheim.no

        by e-mail to the hostel and receipt of a credit card number as a guarantee. The hostel reserves the right to pre-authorize the customer’s credit card.

        All bookings made online by our website www.haraldsheim.no is non- refundable. This way we can insure our guest the lowest prices online.

        Our hostel use Stripe as to have a secure payment method.


      3. Conditions for interruption of stay


        For any shortened reservation the stay will be charged according to the contract sent by e-mail to the customers.

      4. Modification of a reservation


        Any request to modify a reservation must be made to the hostel by telephone or e-mail. The change of reservation is only firm and definitive after receipt of the confirmation by the hotelier.

        Requests for changes may, if necessary, lead to the application of the conditions of interruption and cancellation (see 2.4 and 2.6). The guest shall not be entitled to a refund or even compensation. Possible to change dates.

        In the event of force majeure or due to exceptional circumstances, the hostel reserves the right to accommodate guests in a nearby hotel of an equivalent category, without any change in rates.


      5. Cancellation conditions


        All cancellations must be made in writing, either by e-mail or by post before the date of arrival:

  • From the reservation to 30 days before arrival: Deposits are not refundable but can be reused for a future stay, valid for a period of six months from the first order of the customer.


  • In case of no-show and no cancellation, the total amount of the stay will be charged as compensation due to non-refundable ratings.

Cancellations due to force majeure (road cut, cyclone, etc…) will only result in a postponement of the reservation valid for 3 months. No refund of the deposit will be possible.


    1. Special rates and promotions/non-modifiable/non-refundable


      For any stay linked to special rates, the following conditions replace the cancellation conditions provided for in article 2.5

      In the case of a direct booking with the hostel, subject to the availability of the hostel, the booking will be confirmed by payment of the deposit by means of a valid credit card number.

      The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise.

      Reservations related to special rates or promotions are neither modifiable nor refundable and are payable before the start of the stay.

      Given the preferential rate, if a cancellation should occur, regardless of the date

      on which the reservation is cancelled, 100% of the total amount of the stay will be retained.


      1. “Group” rates


Group rates are applicable from 8 persons or more for a stay of the same length, with identical services and subject to the same invoice.

The “group” rates apply for triple or quadruple room occupied by 3 persons +.
