Known as the city of seven mountains, Bergen is the second city of Norway and is located in an exceptionally beautiful natural area, with fjords and charming islands. Bergen was an important commercial town during medieval times and its past is now reflected in the many landmarks found throughout the city. This is the self-proclaimed ‘Gateway to the Fjords', and a stay in our Bergen hostels will reward you with some great museums, dynamic cultural life and some of Norway’s finest nightlife and restaurants. Visit the impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bryggen, the old naval wharf used during the Hanseatic League. Take a ride on the Ulriken643 cable car tour which offers magnificent views. Then there’s the Munch Museum, the Bergen Aquarium, the Floibanen funicular and the many fjords that can easily be accessed from the city.
