As a member of Hostelling International Norway you are supporting a nonprofit organization who actively work for sustainable tourism, and you are saving money every time you book accommodation through HI Hostels-websites or if you contact our hostels directly. With a membership of HI Norway you are automatically member of Hostelling International and the other national organizations in more than 70 countries that are associated with HI. You get the same access to the membership benefits and discounts that are within our network.

HI Norway membership benefits

In Norway members get 10% discount on overnight stays booked in our channesl or directly with our hostels. You have also the possibility to be an volunteer in our hostels or local groups.You may also participate in exchange programmes with HI in other countries. As a member you may also participate in our hostel activities for free.   

You also receive access to reasonable insurance, electricity and telephone via KNIF. The power supplier is Fjordkraft, which you could contact directly. Just state that you are a HI member and wishes to participate in Knif's power agreement.

National membership and discounts

Are you travelling abroad? You should then check what membership benefits are offered in your country of destination. Follow the links below and these links will take you to the website of the HI's national organization that you will be visiting. It is always wise to check what kinds of discounts and benefits that are offered at the local level when traveling. Don’t forget to ask about local discounts at the hostels where you stay. 

As seen in the table below, some countries/national organizations require a HI membership for allowing you to stay at the hostel. Therefore, the prices quoted is a membership price and therefore the 10% discount "not applicable".
