Nowhere near enough mains sockets in the rooms. Everybody needs to charge something (phone, camera, ...). Having 0.5 sockets per person is not enough. And no, a socket that is only working when the lights are switched on doesn't count... In other hostels USB charging sockets integrated in the bed lamps are in use. This would be really great to have in Bergen as well. Also avoids the often quite hazardous adapter or converter plugs. Lockers in the room should be standard in the 21st century - not in Bergen.

Hi Anton, You are quite right. That's why we are renovating the hostel in 2020. The renovation will - among lots of other things - bring sockets for every bed and lockers in the rooms. Hope to see you in the new Montana by then! Jesper Munck General Manager

Car
From Voss: Follow E16 towards Bergen. After approximately 85 km (at Ulset) your road will be E39. After the 3km long tunnel "Fløyfjellstunnelen" choose the right hand lane marked "Stavanger". After a few hundred meters this leads you onto a multilane street where you should get to the farthest left lane as soon as possible. Keep left up to the traffic lights and turn left into Ibsens gate. Follow this street to its end - where you turn right onto road number 585. At the first hilltop after about 1/2 - 1 km you'll see a sign pointing to Montana. Turn left and follow signs all the way to the youth hostel. From City Centre: follow Kong Oscars gate Road 585 southwards. After driving through the tunnel in Haukeland hospital area you soon get to a hilltop where you see a sign pointing to Montana. Follow the signs until you get here. Free parking at hostel.
