By car:
From Stavanger: Take the ferry from Stavanger to Tau, then follow Rv 13 through Jørpeland. Follow the sign to Preikestolen Vandrerhjem.

From Kristiansand: Take the ferry from Lauvik to Oanes.
From Bergen: drive along the coast and take E39 to Stavanger. Then take the ferry to Tau. You can also drive the inland to Ropeid and take the ferry to Sand, then further Nesvik- Hjelmeland. This route is longer.

From Oslo: there are different routes. One alternative is to drive E134 via Telemark and Dalen and then further towards Suleskarveien and Lysebotn (NB! the road is closed during winter). Further you can take the tourist boat at Lysefjorden to Forsand. You need to book tickets in advance. One alternative is to drive E134 via Haukelifjell.

By public transport:
Take the ferry from Stavanger to Tau and then the bus to Preikestolen hostel (be aware that off season the bus only takes you to Jørpeland). Please see Tide to find local bus routes. If you are coming off season you need to take a taxi from Jørpeland or to walk the 10 km to the hostel.
